After years of operation, the website had fallen behind the sophistication of the brand and didn’t convey the appeal of getting your car worked on by The Specialists. The website was set up as an X-Cart installation, but was badly behind in updating and the design was visibly aged. Additionally, as a shopping website, there was the added complexity of updating the website without altering the existing payments gateway.
We knew we needed a new and fresh design that was fun yet functional. It had to be able to display a ton of information in a friendly manner and with a good balance of whitespace to content. We achieved this effect with a three-column design that allows us to list the entire product catalog while still having space for product advertisements and even an aside with email capture and a social media feed.
What About Right Now?
I’ll admit that I haven’t worked with them in some time, but last I heard they were doing better web business than ever! They already had a ton of organic traffic, they just weren’t able to convert at a high level. Our redesign built on the existing search engine optimization and dramatically increased the conversion rate, resulting in a significant spike and profitability for the company.
